High Fantasy reads.

Recently I went to Cortegana, a medieval faire that takes place around a castle. And because of this trip I started reading books that took place in a medieval land.

The books:

  • Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Mass - 18 year old Celaena Sardothien is Adarlan's greatest assasin, but after getting caught on a mission she has had to spend a year in Endovier's salt mines. One day she is dragged to the Crown Prince and given an offer, win a competition to be the king's champion and regain her freedom after four years. In this competition Celaena will go against murderers, soldiers, assasins and thiefs each of them sponsored by a member of the king's council. Celaena works hard in her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Chaol Westfall, but apart from that, court life bores her. But everything becomes interesting when the prince starts showing interest for her and her opponents start showing up dead. The young assasin investigates these strange deaths in secret and discovers a greater destiny than she could have ever imagined.  I really enjoyed the book and was instantly taken into this world since the first page. Celaena is a fun character and I liked very much how she saw everything. I recomend this book to anybody who likes adventure, mystery, romance and a magical medieval world.
  • The Graceling realms by Kristin Cashore - The Graceling realms consist of three books. The first one is Graceling, the second is a prequel to Graceling called Fire and the thrid one is a sequel to Graceling called Bitterblue. And I must say that I am in love with the books.
